The brief was to design a show flat that would appeal to first-time buyers looking for a flat with a 30-minute commute from Sidcup to London. The target market would be comparing their initial experience to other new builds, therefore, these apartments needed to stand out from the rest. This building was re-purposed from offices into residential, which left unique features throughout the building.
Unlike a new build, each flat was unique and it was important to show off how to utilise these unique features by selecting one of the smallest apartments in the building. COVID-19 was at the forefront of everyone’s minds whilst Boomtown was being built, so it was important to display how these open-plan flats could function as a home and a home office. The intent was to sell the furniture package to buyers, so the scheme was designed to appeal to a mass market and an affordable budget for the target audience.
