Retail design - sustainable pop-up shop

STPL is a start-up men’s clothing brand that wanted to focus the viewer on the ethical and sustainable nature of their brand. I was approached to design their first pop-up shop on the third floor of an empty grade II listed Georgian building that was being used for events/exhibitions, based in central London. Through the use of recycled materials, second-hand furniture and minimalist stylization, the design translates the brands’ enthusiasm to reduce fast fashion. This is achieved by investing in well-crafted staple clothing, that will last the test of time.
The budget was minimal, which challenged me to think outside the box and search for interesting materials. The changing room was made from reused industrial cardboard tubes, designed to be a centrepiece of conversation and a unique experience for the user. I divided the space into three zones, intended to exhibit STPL’s brand, story and ethos. This unique retail experience was designed to relax the customer and welcome curiosity about this start-up, giving them a good platform to launch their business.
